Currently, Janome’s entire DC series machine acclaimed reputations once dwindling shows a positive response from users who find these products more durable and affordable than ever. The Over edge foot C is used with a cast-over stitch allowing the thread to wrap around the edge of the fabric thus eliminating raveling. The Blind hem foot G has a metal guide in the middle and three grooves on the underside. While blind hemming, folding fabric fits snugly across the guide in the foot while the grooves under it prevents against unnecessary slipping. Needle swings over the metal guide making a loose in the upper tension picking of the stitch is almost invisible.
The Bottom foot R is a foot for making buttonholes in automatic mode. A sensor synchronized this foot’s function on the sewing machine that it makes the exact size of the buttonhole against the size of the button to be used. A clever idea! The presence of a slot where the button is placed located at the back of the foot while the foot adjusts to the size of the button. A really ingenious design that makes buttonholing a perfect work of art!
The DC2014 has almost all the characteristics to complete any project on home décor, garment sewing, quilting, scrapbooking and zigzagging. What’s more? It allows sewing with the computerized accuracy, confidence and precision. However, any product has its own bottleneck. We now mention the minimal defects of the DC2014. It has no automatic thread cutter. Thread cutting is done manually, but the effort does not diminish the user’s efficiency, so does the machine. The other one is the drop feed mechanism is poorly placed. Nevertheless, this too does not alter the efficiency of the machine.
Overall, the verdict is quite impressive. The Janome DC2014 still carried the instability, accuracy and the durability of its predecessor. The DC 2014 has a limited warranty of 25 years for mechanical parts, 2 years for electrical parts and 1 year for labor. All warranties are guaranteed by the Manufacturer, Brother’s Industries Inc.
